The penguins first season was in 1967 when they were called the Pittsburgh pirates. This year is the penguins 43^rd year in the NHL. In 2009 the penguins won the Stanley cup. This is their third Stanley cup. The leaders of the team are Sidney Crosby Evgeni Malkin Sergei Gonchar Maxim Talbot Brooks Orpik .
